About Me
I grew up in a family that loved
cuisine of all kinds. I began cooking meals for the family at the
age of about six, but had been assisting both my mother and father
in the kitchen before that time. While I love purchasing and reading
cookbooks for inspiration and ideas, I quit using recipes over
twenty years ago having developed my own sense of style in the
kitchen and especially love hot and spicy foods.
My main area of formal training and expertise is in the art of the
preparation of Raw and Living Vegan Cuisine but I am willing and
able to cook all types of cuisine to include beef, chicken, pork,
lamb, etc. I earned certification as a Raw Food Chef and Instructor
through the
Living Light Culinary Arts Institute of California under the
direction of World renowned Raw Food Gourmet Chef
Cherie Soria. I also continued my education there earning
post-graduate certifications in Raw Event Catering & Food Design,
and Elegant Entertaining.
I
also studied under
Alissa Cohen
and completed all three levels of her training to include Chef,
Instructor, and Teacher certifications from her
Living on Live
Food Certification Program. I also am qualified to certify
others in Alissa Cohen's Living on
Level 1 Chef and
Level 2 Instructor Certification Courses. Of particular note,
Alissa has decided to quit teaching the Level 3 Certification
Course, making that certification much more exclusive.
While I do promote the vegetarian lifestyle I am not 100% vegetarian
myself. I do know from personal experience that I do feel better
when paying attention to the kinds of food I consume, but I will be
the first one to admit that with all the great carne here in
Argentina I find the occasional asado to be irresistible.
Experience
I have worked as a vegetarian teacher offering hands-on classes,
Alissa Cohen certification classes and have worked as a private chef
and caterer since 2003.
I was also the associate director of
Wellness
Within, a wellness center in San Francisco's east bay area, and
also served there as a nutritional consultant, personal coach,
instructor, and gave numerous talks on the benefits of a vegetarian
and raw vegan diet.
I have been headquartered in Buenos Aires since late 2006 working
not only in the culinary arts but also as a writer, editor and
